Lyrical…
I am currently visiting Japan with some family and friends. My sister has lived here for over a decade and as a result I am fortunate enough to have spent time in this beautiful, warm, and welcoming country on numerous occasions.
I love traveling here in the winter and traveling to the colder areas in the north. The first thing that comes to mind when photographing here for me is the Red-Crowned Cranes in Hokkaido. They epitomize Japanese Art and when photographing them I strive to portray that sentiment. I love the way that the close-up images of these beautiful birds become abstract, graphic works of art. They remind me of a Rorschach test. Do you see a bird, dagger, treble clef, or something else?
