Florida Supercon Day 3 Recap! (Part 2 of 2)
It’s hard to believe how busy we were today. I actually never made it to the convention floor! We had so many obscure and original characters. I photographed Daisy from Nintendo, who has been on my wishlist forever, Stoick the Vast along with Astrid and Toothless, Gomez and Morticia Addams, and warrior versions of Ariel and Rapunzel. The con was so packed I was unable to even watch the cosplay contest, for the first time ever! We had a Vault 76 Dweller from Fallout, Ashe and McCree from Overwatch, Pink Diamond from Steven Universe, Xayah from League of Legends, and Beerus from Dragonball. Congrats to Stoick the Vast, Astrid, and Toothless for winning best novice group, and (if we heard correctly) congrats to Beerus for winning the Journeyman Award! While the cosplay contest was at capacity I was fortunately able to photograph the works of Avi Ram. The airbrush artists at this con have been wonderful to work with, and today we were able to photograph Kyle Vest who was painted as Thor, and Kaley Eckersdorff from Aerial Dragons who Avi painted as half Daenerys Targaryen half dragon, in a work titled “Dracarys”! Yesterday was my first day working with the airbrush artists. Kyle Vest painted Orck , an original orc character complete with incredibly detailed prosthetics. Avi Ram painted Hellboy (CA Lopez) and Maleficent (Kaley Eckersdorff), who were both so fun to photograph. Kyle and Avi’s work is so detailed and beautiful, and I’m so thankful I’ve been able to photograph it!
